Chapter 47

Jason’s Pov:

We all ran towards the safe room, I and Dominick getting in last to make sure everyone was in before shutting the door.

“Brenda?” Dominick looked at me and I nodded. I had made sure she was here minutes ago.

I turned round and looked at all the rest of the members of the pack sitting on the floor or squatting. Some were standing, many were injured and many in tears because they had lost their loved ones.

The children stared with wide teary eyes filled with fear. In years, the pack had never experienced a war and people died in a large number.

Derek walked towards us.

“It will not take long and they will surround us here. Unless they decide to end the war here,” he said looking from me to Dominick. “We will have to find a way to prevent them from getting here.”

“What do you think we should do? We cannot stand outside and fight them at the entrance. We will all get killed and they would come in here for everybody,” I told him
