Chapter 20. The Dress
Sitting down, she looks at me, smiling.
“I will stay tonight. Tomorrow we go looking for dresses, so no point driving home just to come back,” Georgina explains. I forgot we booked to go dress shopping tomorrow. It will be nice to see Jackson’s Mum again. I am glad she is staying, she can keep my mind busy and hopefully stop me from thinking about Jackson so much. We don’t bother eating. We ate so much at the reception venue, tasting all the food they had to offer. We sit and watch films until late, falling asleep on the sofa together. I feel someone shaking me. I wake to Georgina looking scared.
“What’s happened?” I immediately look around, panicking, thinking it is about Jackson. “What’s happened to Jackson?” I feel like I am being strangled.
“Alena, calm down. Nothing has happened to Jackson. It was you screaming and kicking in your sleep.” She looks at me, concerned.
“I can’t remember the dream; I can’t remember anything until I felt you shaking me.”
