Chapter 12
He couldn’t waste any more time on this poor wolf, he thought. He needed this to end up soon enough, or his pent-up aggression from the previous hours rolled over, and he’d be screwed.
He didn’t want to prolong the fight. It wasn’t fair to the poor wolf to make him any more than he had already from emotional turbulence. He didn’t know this wolf. He didn’t know why he was there trying to fight him. To gamble with his life.
He growled softly then bent at the knees, letting the poor wolf think he had the advantage. The poor wolf leaped at him, and Alex rolled out of the way, coming to his feet in a swift movement. He jumped and turned in the same motion. It then struck again, this time swiping along Alex’s side. At this point, he was merely tiring out the wolf.
The wolf pounced again, his large, menacing teeth bared, and it launched itself at Alex’s face. Ducking his head, he caught it in the throat, but his teeth clamped down on fur instead of flesh, and it squirmed
