Alex shrugged out his clothes and then stepped into his shower, letting the hot water pound down his body. His muscles ached from the long, tedious journey and the tension of the unknown witch.

He closed his eyes and spoke loudly over the hum of the water. Kate would have been able to hear him with her sensitive hearing, but he didn't want his friend to have a hint of where he'd been and who he had met. No one knew what would happen once the Pack found out about his crossing over the witch's territory, let alone what transpired between him and the young witch.
