Chapter 67

The man was right. It was a long way back to the mansion. And if I was going to go back, bloody clothes were not something that I think was okay to wear; definitely not the best look. I looked into his eyes, they looked so innocent and young. 

“Sure. We have a deal.” I gave him a warm smile and he smiled back excitingly. It was clear that he genuinely wanted to help me. I had a feeling that maybe it was because of his daughter; that he missed her so much and saw helping me as helping her. 

“Great, let’s head in, shall we?” His voice was cheery. He opened the door of the cabin and led me inside. There were photographs hanging on the wall. 

Each one of them had the man and his daughter in them. He looked younger in the pictures and his daughter looked so much like him; almost like the female version. 

“Is that your daughter?” I asked as I followed him into the living room. The cabin was nice. It was not fancy but had a cozy feeling that made me fee
