“Bingo! You got it right. My daughter wanted to see where I was from when she became a teenager. I was stoked. I was missing home. Her mom and grandparents agreed so I brought her back to this town. We stayed in this cabin for three years.” He smiled and then placed the soup right in front of me.
“Thank you.” I extended my gratitude and watched him sit back on the couch. “And her mom?”
“Oh, her mom stayed back with her pack. She only visited once a month or twice. But it all changed when the Alpha got sick and died; his following later was due to heartbreak and grief. It was a very sad time for us and I had to take my daughter back to her pack.”
