Chapter 18

“Higher,” Azula says to me as she raises her hand higher for me to kick as a target.

I don’t know whether this is a flexibility exercise or just torture, but either way, this is hell.

“I can’t go any higher!” I complain, but she ignores me.

“Higher!” She says in a strong voice, and I try to do as she says even though it is nearly impossible.

I have been training for almost an hour with her while Bunny and Zayn lay on the perfectly mowed grass as they watch me in entertainment. They were even brought food by a few guards some minutes ago, so I get to watch them eat while I am starving.

My legs are sore and aching. My clothes are drenched in sweat and my heart is racing due to how much I have been exerting myself. I feel like I could pass out any minute now.

“I said higher!” Azula tells me in an unforgiving tone.
