Chapter 127

Liam excused himself so he could get some of his clothes from his place. I had told him that he did not have to stay alone at that huge house and that he could come to stay in the guest room until his dad and Zyan and the others came back. 

So while he was out, I paced the house slowly, replaying what had happened on the road. I still got chills thinking of it all.

The horrific images were so vivid in my mind. I could not stop seeing in my head how we ran over the guy. It all happened so fast and so unexpectedly that it seemed surreal. 

My phone suddenly began to ring, causing me to withdraw it from my pocket. When I looked at the screen, I saw that it was Zayn calling. I smiled weakly and then answered on the fourth ring. 

“Hi, baby!” I heard how excited he was, and for a quick second, my mind pushed what had happened on the road, away. “You have no idea how we miss you; how I miss you!”
