Chapter 76

She clenched her fists, trying to calm herself down before appearing before them. But the more she thought about what had just happened, the harder it was to control her anger.  

Celine took a deep breath and stepped closer to Bryan.  

"Calvin, Mommy's back," she said while putting on a small smile for her son.  

Bryan immediately turned his head and greeted cheerfully. "Celine, are you done?"  

Celine nodded briefly, then gave Bryan a sharp look. "We'll talk later," she said in a flat but firm tone.  

Bryan looked a little surprised, but he just nodded. "Sure. What's wrong?"

"Not here," Celine replied briefly.  

The ride home was awkward. Calvin fell asleep in the back seat, while Bryan sat in the front seat with Celine driving.
