Chapter 21
I left my cousins with my parents at the living room. I went upstairs to drop my bags in my bedroom, and as I walked inside, my phone was buzzing. I picked up to see who was calling—it was a number that wasn’t stored on my phone. However, when I picked up to know who was phoning, at the other end, I heard Abe’s voice.
“Elisabeth, I’m glad I could speak with you,” Abe said to me as we talked on the phone.
I turned to my door to see if anyone was coming. However, when no one seemed to be approaching my door, I pulled further away from the door and replied back to Abe.
“Hey, I’m happy you called because we need to talk about your sister,” I looked at the door again. “It seems your sister left because of you, Abe.” As my eyes faced my room door, I continued to speak with Abe.
“Elisabeth, what do you mean?” I heard Abe getting angry at me. “Do you know anything?” he requested from me, trying to bottle his anger down.
I told Abe exactly what Gena had told me.
