Layla’s POV

I stopped screaming and hitting the door after what felt like forever without getting a response. I slowly turned away and walked back to my bed. That was when I heard the doors sliding open, and I turned back to see Dani stepping in.

There was a certain level of seriousness in his face that I could not understand.

“Dani…” I started calling,

“It is time for you to leave, Layla,” he says pointedly.

I just watched him, unable to process what he had just said. What did he mean by that? I was too stunned even to reply.

“You need to leave… now,” he says again, and this time around, I felt the urgency and anger in his voice, his teeth gritted.

Was he being serious right now? What the hell is going on here right now?

Dani quickly digs his hand into his pants pockets as he closes the distance between us and retrieves some money and a credit card. He points them out to me, his eyes diverted to somewhere that was not
