Chapter 408

Dani’s POV

I couldn’t believe it. Logan…my brother in everything but blood, the man I’d bled for, killed for, and trusted above anyone else…had spoken to me like I was nothing. 

The sharpness in his tone, the coldness in his words, replayed in my mind as I trudged back to my room. My chest felt tight, a mix of anger and heartbreak swirling inside me.

How could he think I’d lie to him? How could he believe I’d fabricate something so serious just because I didn’t like Isabella? 

Sure, I had my doubts about her…hell, I didn’t trust her one bit…but my loyalty to Logan had always come first. Or so I thought.

When I reached my room, I slammed the door shut behind me, the sound echoing through the silence. 

I leaned against the door, running a hand through my hair, trying to calm the storm brewing inside me. But it was no use. The betrayal, the disbelief…it all came crashing down on me.
