Logan’s POV

I stood there, watching Isabella move around the room with a practiced ease, her soft smile gracing her lips. She looked calm, but there was something about her demeanor that I couldn’t shake. 

I didn’t know why, but there was this persistent doubt gnawing at me. It wasn’t fair, really. She had just explained how she found the phone. 

She had no idea it belonged to Dani…or at least, that’s what she wanted me to believe.

I leaned against the wall, my arms crossed as I studied her. Why do I keep doubting her? I thought to myself. She’s been nothing but forthcoming just now. 

She even told me how she found the phone. I shook my head slightly. Maybe I was letting my suspicions cloud my judgment.

Taking a deep breath, I reached into my pocket and pulled out the phone. It felt heavier in my hand now, as though it carried the weight of my unanswered questions.
