Chapter 494
Isabella’s POV
He shook his head, his expression a mixture of disbelief and disappointment. “Isabella, you’re lying. I can see it in your eyes. Just tell me the truth.”
The truth.
The word hung in the air between us, heavy and suffocating. I couldn’t tell him the truth…not now, not ever. If he found out about Damien, about the lies I’d built our relationship on, it would all come crashing down.
“I don’t know what you want me to say, Logan,” I said, my voice breaking. “I’ve already told you everything I know.”
“No, you haven’t,” he said, his voice low and steady. “And I’m not going to let this go until you do.”
My chest tightened, and I felt tears prick the corners of my eyes. I needed to get out of this conversation, to find a way to deflect his questions before he dug too deep.
“Logan, please,” I said, my voice trembling. “I’m tired. Can we talk about this later?"
