Isabella’s POV
I stood frozen near the window, my heart pounding as I watched Logan march out of the house with Damien in his arms.
The boy clung to his neck, his small face pressed against Logan’s shoulder. My stomach churned with dread. I didn’t need anyone to tell me who was waiting outside…Carol.
From where I stood, I could hear faint snippets of her yelling, though her words were lost in the distance. My palms grew clammy, and I gripped the edge of the windowsill tightly.
I couldn’t go out there. If Carol saw me, the situation would escalate. She wouldn’t just cry and beg…she’d start pointing fingers, screaming accusations.
