Isabella’s POV
As I drove, my mind wandered back to Layla. The way she had looked at me, so confused and scared. She had no idea who I was or why I was there.
That made it even better. She didn’t need to know. All that mattered was that she was gone, and I had won.
I let out a small laugh, shaking my head. "She always thought she was so special," I muttered to myself. "Always surrounded by people who adored her. Jason, Logan, Maddie… they all treated her like she was some kind of saint. But where are they now? Nowhere. They couldn’t save her."
The thought brought a sense of satisfaction that I couldn’t quite describe. For once, I was the one in control. I was the one pulling the strings, not Layla or anyone else.
As I approached Damien’s school, I glanced at the clock on the dashboard. I was right on time. Perfect. I pulled into the parking lot, scanning the area for any familiar faces.
