Isabella’s POV

“Yes,” I said quickly, nodding for emphasis. “It’s why I’ve been so busy lately. I didn’t want to ruin the surprise by telling you too soon.”

Logan’s expression softened, but only slightly. He stepped closer, his gaze still locked on mine. 

“Isabella, you’ve been acting… strange lately. Secretive. I need you to tell me the truth. Is there something you’re not telling me?”

I felt a look of panic but buried it quickly. “Logan, you’re overthinking this,” I said, keeping my tone light. “I promise, there’s nothing to worry about. I just wanted to make Damien’s birthday special, that’s all.”

He studied me for a moment longer, then sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. 

“Fine,” he said, though his tone suggested he wasn’t entirely convinced. “But if there’s something going on, I need to know. We’re a team, Isabella. No secrets.”

“Of course,” I said, forcing a warm smile. “No secrets.”
