Logan’s POV

I didn’t know what was going to happen when we landed. I didn’t know if she would remember anything, or if I would ever get the chance to tell her who she really was.

But right now, she was here.

Right now, she was safe.

And for the first time in a long time, I felt something close to peace.

I sat there, barely breathing, as Layla’s head rested against my shoulder. 

The sound of the airplane engine hummed softly in the background, a steady rhythm that should have reminded me of my purpose…my mission. But all of that seemed to fade away the longer I stared at her.

She was here.

Alive.

Breathing.

Yet, she didn’t remember me.

My jaw clenched as I tried to process it all. This woman, the one who had stolen my heart years ago, was sitting right next to me.
