Chapter 621

Logan’s POV

She seemed unaware of my presence, completely lost in whatever was troubling her.

The hallway was filled with the usual hospital chaos…nurses pushing wheelchairs, a doctor checking his clipboard, the distant sound of a crying child…but Layla stood out to me like a beacon in the storm.

Damn it.

Why the hell was she here?

I had spent the past hours searching for her, sending my men through the airport, cursing myself for letting her slip through my fingers. 

And now, just when I least expected it, fate had placed her right in front of me.

A slow smirk played on my lips.

I wasn’t letting her walk away this time.

Shoving my hands into my pockets, I started toward her.

One step.

Two steps.

She still hadn’t noticed me.

Three steps.

Then suddenly, she stopped pacing.

She turned toward the ward’s door, hesitating as if debating whether to go inside.
