Logan's POV

She was blushing, her cheeks tinged pink as she looked down, her fingers playing with the hem of her dress. 

“You... you were about to...”

I swallowed, my heart racing. “Yeah. I was.”

She looked up, her eyes searching mine. “Why didn’t you?”

I hesitated, my thoughts racing. Because I didn’t deserve her. Because I was hiding too many things, and she deserved better than my lies. But I couldn’t say any of that. Not now. Not when I was so close to having her.

“Because once I start, I won’t be able to stop.” My voice was low, my gaze locked on hers.

Her breath hitched, her eyes widening as my words sank in. But she didn’t pull away. She didn’t tell me to leave. Instead, she leaned in, her fingers brushing against my arm, her voice soft. 

“Maybe I don’t want you to stop.”
