Logan's POV

I clenched my fist, hating myself for lying to her. But what was I supposed to do? Tell her the truth? That my wife and son were about to arrive and turn everything upside down? I knew I couldn’t do that. 

Not yet. Not when things were just starting to feel right between us, when I already told her that I'm single and she's the only woman in my life.

A knock on my office door pulled me out of my thoughts. My driver stepped in, his face serious. 

“Sir, they’ve arrived.”

My heart sank. It was time. I stood up, straightening my shirt. “I’ll be down in a minute.”

He nodded and left, closing the door behind him. I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. I knew this was coming. I’d agreed to it.
