Maxine’s POV

"I'm new in town so I'm just living in a friend's place until I can get on my own feet. I got a few jobs though. I'm heading to your apartment for one now." He said to me.

"That's sounds great!" I said. "Where do you work?"

"I do a bit of plumbing and electrical jobs in houses. So, if you have a leaky sink or faulty wiring, don't hesitate to reach out to me." He said, giving me a card.

It just had his name NICK and the words in smaller letters; plumbing and electrical works, under it. His number was under it as well.

I smiled and pocketed the cards. "Sure, I just hope I don't." I joked.

"I'll be there to fix the mess," he gave me a thumbs up.

We entered the building and he stopped in the common room.

"You go on. I don't know the apartment I'm going to. I have to call them to come meet me here and take me there."
