Chapter 6
Kaito felt his gut twist into knots as remorse washed over him. He shifted his weight on one leg and a part of him blamed his best friend. He wished Juhan wasn’t so persistent with his calls.
With lips primed, Kaito’s shoulders slacked as his subconscious wandered off, thinking of the possible ways to help her regain consciousness. Suddenly, his eyes widened and glitter of hope flashed in them.
“I got it!” He beamed, rushing over to Imani.
She looked up from her palms, staring daggers at him when he stepped into her bubble. He took a step back, rubbing the back of his neck.
“You got what?” Imani asked, scrunching up her face.
“Follow me.” He started, pivoting on his heels and striding over to his mirror.
She followed, skeptically casting a glance at him. “What’s going on?”
“Stand here.” Kaito moved away, giving her room to stand in front of the mirror.
“Why?” She frowned and he insisted. “You found a way to restore my memory?”
