Chapter 13
Kaito chewed on his tofu and swallowed it down, while he watched Imani and Johan talk about random things.
He studied Imani, admiring how she blinked, fluttering her lashes softly like the wings of a butterfly. He raised a cup to his mouth and his lips kissed the rim and he sipped from it, enjoying her graceful movements.
Kaito shook his head and dispelled all the things his wolves pitched in.
“What do you think, Kaito?” Johan asked, drawing Kaito out of his web of thoughts.
“Hm?” Kaito pushed his brows up in confusion, he was far too immersed in his thoughts to pay attention to their discussion.
“What do you think about historical fiction?” Imani asked.
Kaito got up and washed out his plate then turned to meet both their eyes.
“You both know I don’t read books.” Kaito shrugged, drying the plate with a short towel.
“That’s true, that explains why he’s so dumb.” Imani sniggered and Johan joined her.
