I felt a huge wave of relief wash over me as soon as we were back at the penthouse. Renard and Daring took me to the living room and had me sit down on the couch as they tended to me.

“What happened?” Daring asked, seemingly aware that he had missed something.

I sighed, then told them about what happened with Jett and how Jormun was handling Killian for me in response.

“What an asshole,” Renard commented. “He never did have a high level of patience,” he complained.

“Jormun is convinced that Jett is an ally and does not pose a threat despite this incident,” I told them.

“I beg to differ,” Daring agreed with my apprehension of the situation unfolding in front of us.

“As do I,” I told him.

“It is just because you two have never dealt with him before,” Renard said. “Jett is one of the most powerful royals in existence. So much so that if he wanted to make the world kneel before him, he could.”

“That does not make us feel any better,” Darin
