"This is it." Madamme Toussard said, turning around to smile at Lady Lucia.
"This is what, exactly?" Lady Lucia took in the empty room and scowled at Toussard.
A sigh escaped Toussard's lips, and she shook her head and gesticulated to the floor. "Look again."
Lady Lucia rolled her eyes and decided to listen to her. She looked down at the floor and almost balked. In the centre of the floor, was a concentric circle ringed with smaller circles inside of it. The circles glowed blood red, and all around it, runes lay, glowing bright blue. Their glow pulsed brightly in the dim room.
Lady Lucia's heart beat faster in its cage as she stared at it. After what seemed like a century, she tore her gaze from it and lifted it to look at Toussard, her voice dipping into a whisper as she spoke. "Is it—?"
Mistress Toussard nodded. "Yes! It's the Grid."
