Chapter 36

I was nervous when Jacob pulled the car aside. My situation is difficult. Every second I was trembling and restless especially when the two were close. Sometimes I thought that maybe it would be better if Jake and I just lived in another country.

I was even more nervous when Jacob got out and slammed the car door shut. "I think your brother is angry, baby," I said.

"Go," Jake ordered and I suddenly looked at him.

"Why?" I asked.

"Ask why he's wasting his time."

"Okay," I said but Jake didn't say anything and closed his eyes.

When I got out of the car, Jacob turned and frowned. "What are you doing?"

"It's suffocating inside, Nat. Do you really need to do that, you know I'm with you!"

"I'm sorry, and I was insensitive earlier, but my husband asked for that," I explained.

"I think I'm going to die early because of heart disease. Every day that I know you two are together, my chest feels like it's going to explode. Do you know that?"
