Chapter 3

Blessing's POV

I quickly dressed and climbed into bed. My thoughts were swirling, and I struggled to fall asleep. My mind was filled with images of my captor touching me, kissing me, and making me feel good. It was wrong, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Eventually, exhaustion took over, and I drifted off into a deep slumber.

Later in the night, I woke up to ease myself. Seeing myself in a negligée, I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable.

I looked around the room and saw some clean clothes neatly folded on the chair. I didn't know who had placed the clothes there, but they looked more decent than the negligée I was wearing.

Without much thinking, I changed into those clothes and returned to the bed.

I was awoken by the sound of a man’s voice. I opened my eyes to see the man standing beside me. He had a look of pure hatred on his face, and I knew I was in serious trouble.

He lunged at me, but I dodged him and ran out of the room. I made my way down the hallway and into a large room.

There, I saw a tall man with black hair and gray eyes, wearing a suit and tie. His face was emotionless, like a statue. I was scared at first, but then he smiled at me.

“Are you okay, Blessing?” he asked me.

I nodded in response, but then I realized I had no idea who this guy was.

“Who are you? And how do you know my name?” I asked him.

The man sat down and motioned for me to take the empty chair across from him.

“My name is Christopher, and I’m a friend of your father’s,” he answered. “I’ve come here to help you escape.”

“Escape? How?” I asked.

Christopher pointed to a window behind him, where I saw an army of men dressed in black suits. They were carrying rifles.

“There’s an entire platoon of armed men outside. They will shoot anyone who tries to escape,” he explained.

I was confused. How could he help me escape if this place was heavily guarded?

Noticing my hesitation, Christopher smiled at me again. “Don’t worry, Blessing. I’ll protect you.”

His words echoed in my mind. I wasn’t sure if his words were true. But I had no choice but to believe him. I would do anything to be safe.

I followed Christopher out of the room and into the garden behind the mansion. He led me down a long path filled with flowers of all colors and sizes. It was beautiful, and it made me think about my father. He would love this place.

We came across a door marked with a big red X. I frowned at the sight of it, but Christopher just kept walking. As we entered the room, I saw a man tied in one corner, not too far away from a man dressed in white.

“No,” the man dressed in white shouted. “Not my son! You need to free him!”

“This is what happens when you break the rules,” Christopher stated, nodding at the man in white. “He broke the rules, and now he has to pay the price.”

The man in white didn’t seem happy, but he did as he was told and stood quietly.

“Blessing, come here,” Christopher ordered. I walked up to him and took his hand. He placed it on my shoulder, and I flinched at his touch.

“Don’t worry,” he assured me. “I’m just going to use you as bait.”

I couldn’t believe it. So, this man was going to use me as a hostage?!

After a while, a man dressed in a black suit walked into the room. I recognized him immediately: it was Drake, my captor. This man was like a demon from hell last night.

He approached Christopher with a smile on his face. “You have no idea how happy I am to see you. I didn’t think you’d make it,” he said. “And who is this?”

“This is Blessing, your new property,” Christopher replied.

“So, it’s Blessing?” Drake said, staring into my eyes.

I nodded, totally terrified of him. I couldn’t imagine what would happen now that I was Drake’s property.

But there was no turning back.

It was all over for me.

***

[A few months later]

My eyes shot open, and I shot up out of bed. I was sweating, panting, and trembling all over. A sense of dread hung over me, and I knew it was going to take a while to recover. I reached for the glass of water on the nightstand beside me and gulped it down. I knew that I needed to drink more water, but my body felt weak and sore. I wondered if it was because of the nightmare I just had. It seemed like a mixture of reality and fiction. I remembered my father, Christopher, and the man dressed in white, as well as Drake, the man who had captured me and had bought me after having a taste of me.

I thought back to my previous life when my father died and left me an orphan. My mother died of cancer when I was young, so it had been just me and Dad. We lived happily, but then tragedy struck. When he died, I thought I would be all alone in the world. But I had my friends to support me, and they were there for me when I needed them. I remembered how they helped me get through it all.

Then came Christopher, and he turned everything upside down with a lie. I remembered his handsome face, his silver eyes that seemed to look right through me, and the way he smiled when I spoke to him. It was like I had no control over myself when he was around. And that was why he kept coming back to visit me, time after time. I wonder why he even bothered.

Christopher made me understand what it meant to be a wicked person. Both he and Drake. It was later after I was sold to Drake did I understand what had happened.

From what I had heard, it seemed as if Drake had captured me for someone who he worked with, but after having sex with me, he wanted me for himself, but he knew he couldn't get me for himself without attracting problems to himself. So, in order to get me, he had to make a deal with Christopher which involved Christopher capturing me and then selling me off to him in order to get a reward.
