Chapter 30

Rose’s POV

I placed a hand on my lips as I looked at the clothes there. There was no way I would be able to finish it before Eliza came around. But I still had an edge over Eliza thanks to the secret she was hiding. I could use that as an edge.

Taking a deep breath, I bent over and scooped the clothes on the floor, and then, made my way to the laundry room. I didn’t pass anyone on my way, and it bothered me so much, but still, I didn’t wish to get into trouble with Isabel. She could be so ruthless.

I washed her outfits as she had said, and then, dried it on the thin rope at the back of the room. My hands hurt with each move I made and the day had not started yet, I had no idea what I should do in this instance.

With a sigh, I made my way back to the room, and thought of calling in sick, only to remember that I had no such privilege here. I leaned against the door as I looked at the empty room. It was thankfully clean.
