Rose’s POV
I couldn’t shake the feeling of emptiness that had settled over me since I left Elise behind.
The loneliness was suffocating, pressing down on me with a force that made it hard to breathe.
I had never felt so alone, so lost. I missed her already, missed the way she would laugh at my jokes, missed the sound of her voice, missed the comfort of her presence beside me.
I wished with all my heart that she was strong enough to come with me, that we could face this journey together.
But that wasn’t possible now. She was too weak, too hurt. And I had to keep going, no matter how much it hurt.
