Elise’s POV
The heaviness in my limbs was growing unbearable, and I could feel the pull of sleep dragging me down.
My eyelids openly, my body begging for rest, but just as I was about to surrender to the exhaustion, a hand tapped me on the shoulder, jolting me back to reality.
“Elise, stay with us,” Andrew’s voice cut through the fog in my mind. I blinked, struggling to focus on his face. His expression was strong, eyes narrowed as if he could see right through me.
“We still have some things to clear up.” he said to me and I knew what he was trying to tell me indirectly.
I sighed inwardly, realizing there would be no rest for me yet. Andrew wasn’t going to let this go.
I could see the suspicion in his eyes, the way he studied me as if he knew I was hiding something. And he wasn’t wrong.
“Elise,” Andrew began, his tone as if commanding, “before Rose came into the forest, did she meet with anyone? Did she say anything unusual?
