Alpha Kanen’s POV

“Where is the royal physician!!” I am tensed up because he isn’t in this section, and Rose seemed so fragile. I couldn’t even bring myself to lay her down. I held her in my arms.

“Put her down, Alpha. The physician is on his way,” Malone said but my ears weren’t working, my hands were weak but was still holding on to her strongly. I didn’t want to let her go.

I felt so weak, so faint myself, but in my weakness there was strength. Strength to hold my slave girl, to prevent her from falling. I’ve never felt quite so weak before and I didn’t understand what was going on with me.

The physician enters and I lower her gently downwards on the bed in the bay. “Where have you been?” I query him and he say he went for a meal. I say nothing and watch him feel her, taking notes of her temperature, body heat and feeling for things in general that I knew nothing about.
