This morning when I opened my eyes, I could feel the anticipation growing up in my chest. Last night, Sebastian gave me his word that from this point forward, he wouldn't ever leave my side. I was well aware that my wish was extremely self-centered, but I was only acting in this manner because I wanted what was best for my child.

On the other hand, I was dismayed when I looked over at the spot beside me, and didn't see him sleeping there with me.

Even though it was still very early in the morning, as seen by the clock hanging on the wall, I gently got out of bed in order to find where my husband had gone, but not after I stepped into the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth.

Still dressed in my night gown, I stepped out of the room and headed to the elevator.
