After arriving back at the house, I made the decision to take a shower, and Sebastian proceeded to the study room in order to review the documents that Jason had sent to him through email. For the time being, he was working at home in order to accommodate my request to have him with me by my side all the time.

It would undoubtedly bring about a change in our circumstances after Sebastian ensured both mine and my baby's safety; however, I am unsure of when this would take place. I had high hopes that he would take the steps required to get rid of Brylee from our lives sooner, or I would do it myself.

After I had finished showering, Sebastian came back to the room and took my hand in his, leading me back down the stairs.

‘‘Would you want chicken and cheese pasta baked for lunch?’’ he asked, sitting on the couch, and urging me to sit next to him.

‘‘Do you know how to make it?’’ I quirked a brow at him as I took a seat on the spot he’d just patted.
