"Let’s dig into the food you brought," Kaden stated with a serious expression as he led me down the stairs and into the kitchen. When we got there, the maid was already setting up the dish and a fresh rice dish on the long mahogany dining table, ready for us to enjoy.
“Where’s your dad?” I asked while he pulled out a chair for me, and I smiled to show my gratitude. “Isn’t he joining us for breakfast?”
"Nope," Kaden replied, settling into his chair next to me. "He took off early to meet with the management at Hendricks Disco Flamingo."
“Why is that? Is there a problem with your club?”
“He’s on the lookout for a buyer.” He cleared his throat and slid a plate filled with rice and beef lasagna in front of me before starting his meal.
"Are you thinking about selling your club?"
"Lia is an amazing cook." He quickly shifted the topic, trying to talk with his mouth full, which made his words a bit jumbled.
