Ezra POV

I stuffed Summer’s dress in a garbage bag and cleaned up the mess in the bedroom. Blood was never a good sign. It was a warning of things to come. I was tired of this bitch and her threats but it was about time she showed her damn face. Her daughter Veronica penetrated our borders again during our Mating Ceremony.

I didn’t tell Summer because I didn’t want her to worry. I know a part of her carries serious guilt for killing Jacob but it was either him or her and I was glad it was him and not her.

While Summer was in the shower in the other room across the hall I pulled out my phone and called Vik.

“Any news?” I asked.

“She’s around. The little bitch.” Saying Vik had family issues was an understatement.

“Summer thinks your stepmother’s prowling around. She left us a gift.”

“Fuck.”

“When I find her I’ll kill her.”

“Listen, Ezra. I think there’s a reason Gardenia’s been buying her time.”

“I’m listening.”
