Summer POV
I shrugged my Dad off and snatched Ezra’s arm before things turned to blows.
“Stop, stop. I want to talk to him. We’re just going to talk, right?” I turned to my grandfather.
He nodded. “Of course. We come in peace but we’re not fools and we don’t do well with intimidation.”
“You shouldn’t have set foot on my land then,” Ezra barked.
“Stop it! Why don’t you get some air? This shouldn’t take long.”
“But Summer—”
“Go, Ezra!”
“Ugh, fine.” He nodded at Dad to follow him. No doubt my Dad would get an ear full about letting this happen.
“You can all leave too,” Augustus ordered his men.
“Granddad I don’t think this is wise,” my cousin said.
I believed he was at least two years older than me.
“You should leave too Preston.”
Preston adjusted his shoulders. “Why?” he demanded.
“Because this is between your cousin and me.”
He rolled his eyes. “Cousin,” he puffed.
