Chapter 80. At the Mayor’s Office

I sat at the mayor’s office, and tapped my feet gently on the floor. I wasn’t happy at all and the mayor knew it.

Mayor Thompson’s face looked pale and his hands seemed to tremble. He looked much older today, and I wondered why.

“Kaelan,” he said, his voice barely a whisper. “To what do I owe this visit? I hope there’s no problem?”

“Yes, Mayor.” I growled. “There’s a problem. We had an understanding that you would keep your human hounds out of our affairs, and we would keep our claws off your precious Sun City. It seems you’ve forgotten your end of the bargain.”
