Chapter 87
Ruby’s POV
We had been training the wolves relentlessly for the past week. We needed everyone to be able to defend themselves. Bunkers were prepared for those who couldn’t fight. The pack felt sad. They sensed that something was about to happen, but we had yet to confirm anything with them.
After our training session, my friends and I headed to the waterfalls for a swim. The sound of the rushing water was both soothing and exhilarating. The falls felt almost magical, with large rocks surrounding us. I floated on my back, soaking up the sun, and I couldn’t help but smile at how serene the moment felt.
“The pack is melancholy,” Ael commented, swimming around Joe.
“War is in the air; they can feel it,” Beth said, looking worried. “Is there any way to avoid it?”
I shook my head. Even if we were to kill Boris De Luca now, they would just find a replacement for him. We had to wait for him to gather all his forces, and then we could eliminate them.
