I stepped out of the bathroom. The steam swirling around me as I reached for a towel. I wrapped it around my waist and stared at my reflection in the mirror. My face looked different, tired and worn. The weight of everything that had happened pressed heavily on my shoulders.

As I dried off, I couldn't stop thinking about Emily. Her note was still there on the bedside table, crumpled and abandoned. I was still so ashamed of myself and what I had done to her. Every passing moment reminded me of what I'd done yesterday and It haunted me.

I didn't know if I was going to live my life without remembering every moment of it. It was always going to be there, taunting me and troubling me.
