Mist's POV

Very well done, Mist; next time, don’t listen to strange voices. I mentally talked to myself, wanting to bang my head against a wall or column, but there was none near me.

What the fuck could I do other than lie there in agony, waiting to see if someone would find me or until I had the strength to try to climb the cliff? Although to be honest, I didn’t want to be found. Stephen surely didn’t want me anywhere near him since I left again after saying all those horrible things to him; my sister was too blinded by her dog to realize anything was going on, and Nauto, much less, would be looking for me. The only thing I knew with more certainty was that if I ended up dying there, the vampires would stop looking for my sister because, without me, she would be of no use for their blood, as they needed both of us.
