Chapter 44
She had left her friend alone at the club the night before; the last memory she had of the blue-haired girl was dancing in the middle of the dance floor with a man who could have passed for a rugby player or the next Michael Jordan.
She looked for her phone in her purse just at the moment when the sound of a notification from her cell phone caught her attention; she thought it was a message from her friend when she checked the time and realized that at least it was still ten in the morning and frowned when she saw an email with an unknown sender.
She opened the mail, and once she read the contents, all the blood drained from her face, her legs were about to give out, and her breath got stuck in her chest.
“We once said we’d be together forever. Remember that? You’re mine, Em, don’t forget that.”
