How the man would have convinced the woman to stay longer with him than just one night was quite a miracle, and Luck wished he would share with him whatever he would have done to make it happen and see if it could work on his partner. Currently, the newly mated couple were in a small cottage outside of town that their friend would have rented; it was like having their little unexpected honeymoon.

Luck wanted something like that, but first, he had to convince his partner to stay with him.

He still didn’t know where those thoughts about leaving had come from. Wherever Emma went, he would move earth and sea to find her; he wouldn’t have had the chance to inquire a little more about it; he would have seen her too dejected for that, and he would have barely opened his mouth to say anything when she would have closed the door in his face.
