Chapter 9
Nate's POV
I put the whole thing about Hannah behind me and focused on healing Layla. I held onto her arms and closed my eyes as I tried to feel for whatever is wrong with her. I found it and began to take it in. I felt Freddie’s hand on my left shoulder.
“Take it easy, Alpha, you can only do so much.”
I wanted to listen to him, but I knew I could not stop at that point. I took it until there was nothing left to take. I fell on the cold hard floor with a loud thud but not before I saw her fingers twitch.
Freddie helped me up to a nearby couch by her side.
“I will have Tianna get you some food to regain your strength.”
I nodded as he ran off. I moved close to Layla as I held onto her right hand and fell asleep.
My eyes shot open, and the first thing I noticed was that I no longer held her hand. I looked towards the bed in shock and jumped from the chair. Layla was no longer in the room.
