Odette’s POV

I was waiting for Malachi to return, my attention on my phone when a shadow cast upon me and I raise my head to meet his gaze… Zachary. I haven’t seen him since I got back, the last I heard was that he was being reinvestigated after what Bryer did but what is he doing here? I didn’t take him to be someone who would visit the mall at this time then I see it, the lady behind him.

The sight makes me scoff, he has jumped into the arms of another woman after Bryer left him. Without saying anything, I return my attention to my phone, not caring about his presence anymore.

“Wait for me in the car” I hear him tell her and the lady immediately walks away. Still, I don’t raise my head from my phone. He is not worth my attention even in the slightest.

“Odette” he calls out to me but I continue to ignore him. Now I wish Malachi is back already.

“Odette” he calls again and this time I hiss lightly, finally raising my head to meet his gaze.
