I was happy. And so was everyone. Finn had come with good news and after that, Eliana suggested we take a trip to one of the eateries around town for a celebration date. Volkov, who somehow felt like he wasn't in our group, decided to back out but with one state from Eliana, he backed in. The stare of a mother was always effective. Unfortunately, it wasn't the same for my mother.

Eliana decided to pay for all of our meals and when Finn suggested helping with the bill, she told him not to try it or she was going to amputate his hands.

We had all been shocked by her use of humor but we were soon laughing. Finn had a look of surprise on his face.

"I am surrounded by a bunch of adults who take care of themselves. I want to be a mother today so neither of you have any options."

I had gotten a call and a test from my mother. She was begging me to pick her calls or at least text her back. After I had gone AWOL for a week, she was definitely worried.
