Chapter 33
Damon's POV
"Hey Damon, how's it going?" Warren asked, his voice laced with concern.
I sighed, leaning back in my chair. "It's been better," I admitted. "I've been trying to keep busy, but it's hard not to think about everything that's happened."
Warren nodded sympathetically. "I know it's tough," he said. "But you're doing a great job holding everything together. I'm here for you if you need to talk or just need a break."
I appreciated Warren's words, but I couldn't shake the feeling that things were spiraling out of control. Elysia was distant and distant, and I couldn't shake the feeling that she was hiding something from me. And then there was the casino, which seemed to be bleeding money despite my best efforts to turn things around.
"Thanks, Warren," I said, forcing a smile. "I appreciate it. I just wish I could do something to make things right."
"Why are you so worried, Warren?" I asked, noticing the concern on his face.
