Chapter 34
Damon's POV
I drove home in a daze, my mind numb with shock. I couldn't believe what had just happened with my father. He had never been one for ultimatums, but this was a whole new level of cold-heartedness.
As I pulled into my driveway, I realized that it was late at night. I had no idea how long I had been at the casino, but it must have been hours. I was exhausted and drained, and all I wanted to do was crawl into bed and forget about the world for a little while.
But as I stumbled out of the car, I realized that I was too tired to even make it inside. My legs felt like lead, and my head was spinning. I collapsed onto the seat of my car, and the next thing I knew, I was drifting off to sleep.
I don't know how long I was out for, but when I woke up, it was morning. The sun was shining through the windows, and I was covered in a thin layer of sweat. My head was pounding, and I had a crick in my neck from sleeping in an awkward position.
