I took another sip, my mind racing. I knew I had to do something, but what? Nina was too stubborn to accept my help; she wanted to handle this alone. Still, I couldn’t just stand by and let her get hurt—not when I had the power to stop it.
I turned and walked out without hesitation. I pushed through the crowd, my pace picking up speed. My heart was racing. I needed to make a call to figure out my next move. Nina might resist my help, but I couldn’t stand by and let her face danger alone—especially not when her life was on the line.
As I stepped outside into the cool night air, I pulled out my phone, my hand trembling slightly. I gazed at Nina’s name in my contacts, desperately wanting to call her. But I hesitated. She wouldn’t listen to me now. I needed a better plan, a way to protect her without her knowing.
