Chapter 39. Halfway

Sarah had gotten the full story of what happened that night from Matthew. It turned out that Edward fainted while trying to escape because his brain tumor was very severe.

“So it's only Rudolph who got caught?" Sarah asked, wincing as she felt a throbbing pain in her right shoulder as if the painkillers had worn off.

"Yeah, and six of his men. He doesn't want to open his mouth yet. There is a family lawyer who represents him," Matthew replied. He got up because suddenly the door to the room opened, and a doctor and two nurses appeared there.

The doctor checked Sarah and made sure that she was okay.

"When can I go home?" asked Sarah impatiently.

"You can go home in three days, and have a rest at home for two weeks," the doctor replied with a smile.

"I don't have that much time. Can I go out today? I'm sure I'm fine," Sarah said half-heartedly.
